Fall Fashion Favorites

Fall is here!  I am looking forward to the cooler weather and all of the cute clothes in my closet just waiting to be worn.  This is definitely my favorite time of the year, I just hope Florida can't cool off sooner than later!

I want to share my favorite fall fashion trends to help you dress your best for the new season.

1. Wine Red - I love this color (I might be biased because of my Seminoles haha) and you can find every piece of clothing in it...tops, jeans, hats, scarves, you name it.  It's a bold color and makes a statement!

Hat (mine is from LOFT, similar one here)
Necklace (mine is from Target, similar one here)

2.  Olive Green - Another great fall color!  It can mix well with other patterns, like leopard print.

3.  Plaid - A cozy plaid top or a big blanket scarf; it is a staple for your fall wardrobe.

Top (Similar color here)

4.  Lace Dresses - There are a lot of great dresses out there with fun lace details and cutouts!  Find something that fits your style and have some fun.

Dress (Mine is by Bailey Blue, similar one here)

5.  Fringe Details - How cute are these fringe booties?!  I love this detail!  You can find fringe on handbags, vests, and dresses too.

6.  Chokers - Did you wear chokers in the 90's?  Well, they're back!  I love the faux suede or faux leather self-tie chokers.  Fun fall accessory!

Necklace (Mine is from Francesca's, similar one here)
Tee (This is from a subscription serrvice, but other graphic tees can be found here)
Jeans (Mine came in a Stitch Fix box, but similar pair is here)

7. Cargo Vests - Fun piece to pair with a top and jeans, but it also works well with a dress.

Vest (Mine is by FATE, similar one here)
Dress (Mine is by GLAM, similar one here)
Wedges (Mine are Mossimo, similar ones here)

P. S.  These are the no show (an no slip!) socks that I wear with all of my booties.  They are the BEST!

What are you looking forward to for fall?

30 Things To Do Before I Turn 30!

Earlier this month, I celebrated my 29th birthday!  It was pretty special, my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Orlando.  We spent some time at Disney (our home away from home), I got to see my parents, and we got to watch Florida State's first game of the season against Ole Miss.

I've been to Disney more times than I can count, but this was the first birthday I've spent there.  They definitely make you feel extra special!  I got to have lunch with the Princesses (they even signed a birthday card for me!) and dinner with Winnie the Pooh.

Even though I had a great birthday, I can't help but think that I am really close to turning 30 years old.  Scary!  I really want to get the most out of the last year in my 20's and make sure it's full of exciting experiences.  I decided to put together a list of 30 items to complete before my 30th birthday.  Some are new experiences, some are things I've done before, and some are things that HAVE to be done. I've tried to cover a wide range of tasks and really focus on bettering myself.  So, here's the list:

1. Have new lifestyle photos taken professionally.
2. Read 30 Personal Development books.

3. Travel to a new country. (Antigua, May 2017)

4. Take Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour.
5. Get a new hairstyle. (September 20, 2016)
6. Paint a canvas or piece of pottery. (August 2017)

7. Recreate my blog's website.
8. Design a blog logo. (August 2017)

9. Start my Youtube channel.
10. Create my morning routine.
11. Swim with dolphins sting rays. (Antigua, May 2017)

12. Take a beach vacation.
13. Attend a concert. (Smokey Robinson, February 2017)

14. Treat myself to a day at the spa.
15. Start a collection. (Disney Shoe Ornaments)

16. Find out more about my heritage.
17. Buy fresh flowers for myself once a month.

February (Surprise from Johnny)

18. Meet Shaun T. (Charlotte, NC January 14, 2017)

19. Stomp grapes at a vineyard.
20. $1 million in real estate.
21. Get engaged. (December 11, 2016)
Full story is here: http://shannongillilan.blogspot.com/2017/03/our-proposal-story.html

22. Become a Shakeology 365er and get my shaker cup and golden scoop. (May 2017)

23. Watch an FSU football practice. (October 25, 2016)
24. Be able to do a forearm stand.
25. Write a letter to my mom and dad telling them how much I appreciate them.
26. Fly in a helicopter. (August 2017)

27. Pass my post-licensing exam for real estate. (January 2017)
28. Create a Disney photo album for all of our best pictures over the years (and for the future).

29. Inspire someone to change their life.
30. Swim in a natural spring.

I will be updating this list throughout the year and plan to cross them all off!  Have you done a 30 Before 30 list before (or a bucket list before any birthday)?  I would love to see what you put on YOUR list!

Top 5 Tips to Stay Motivated on Your Fitness Journey

Life is tough sometimes, right??  Things don't always go the way you plan and it can be chaotic at times.  You get tired, you get in a funk.  You don't want to work out, you would rather curl up on the couch and binge on Netflix.  Have you been there before?

If you start out on a fitness journey and want to make a change in your life, there will be highs and there will be lows.  Just like anything else in life...it takes work.  You have to be willing to make the effort for yourself!

Here are my TOP FIVE tips to keep yourself motivated:

1.  Schedule your workouts - - - and show up for YOURSELF! You wouldn't cancel on your boss would you? Don't cancel on YOU.

2.  Set goals.  And I don't mean a number on the scale.  Do you want to workout 5 days a week instead of 3?  Is there a pair of jeans you want to be able to fit into again?

3.  Reward yourself.  When you reach those goals you set, do something for yourself.  Get your nails done, buy a new workout outfit.  I suggest not relating this reward with food.

4.  Stay off of the scale, it's not your friend.  Seriously.  The number on the scale is just that...a number.  Instead, focus on the way you're feeling and the way your body is changing.  Do you have more energy?  Are you sleeping better?  Do you see definition in your biceps?  I workout because I want to FEEL better and FEEL strong and not because I want to weigh a certain number on the scale.

5.  Have a support system.  I think this is something a lot of people miss.  If I didn't have my girls in my accountability group, my days off the wagon would certainly last much longer than they do.  We check in with each other and we notice if someone is missing.  We share our struggles and offer encouragement.  We share what has worked for us and help others who may be where we've been before.  So, find YOUR people!  Maybe it's your best friend, sister, significant other, or an online group of people you don't even know yet (I promise you, it's not scary!).
